One of the best things about visiting
a miniature exhibition is the opportunity to study the paintings in great detail
(and seeing them in real life is infinitely better
than viewing them on the internet). While it isn't essential to enjoy them, one
of the joys of miniature art is that it draws you in to its own little world so
the opportunity to view them at close quarters with a
magnifying glass is very rewarding. Thanks to this
new technology you can now zoom right in on the paintings below and see them
hugely enlarged to many times life size. I hope you enjoy them!
Jenny Wren - This painting is in watercolour and measures 2.25" x 1.75" in real life.
If you look carefully you can see an earwig snack for the wren as well.
Red Admiral & Rook
- This painting is in watercolour and
measures 2.25" x 1.75" in real life. It was awarded the Gold Memorial
Bowl at the Royal Miniature Society in 2008.
